The gore center documents the history of politics, policy and social, economic, and cultural change in tennessee and the south as well as the history of middle tennessee state. The gore center houses some three-dimensional objects that people donated with their collections or with their oral history. The gore center houses hundreds of oral histories covering a variety of subjects, including veterans and the home front, university history, middle tennessee regional history, and much.

Visitors explored documents, photographs, and objects from the gore papers as well as other related archival collections. In october 2018, the albert gore research center honored 50 years of black student activism at mtsu with a program called movement 68. The gore center has partnered with james e.
